About Our Speaker: Karen Bohnert

Karen Bohnert is the brand leader and editorial director for all Farm Journal dairy offerings, including serving as editor of Dairy Herd Management and MILK Business Quarterly. With more than 20 years of experience producing award-winning dairy content and her direct experience owning and operating a 600-Jersey cow dairy enterprise, Karen brings a unique skillset to Farm Journal’s table. This allows her to deliver the boots-on-the-ground content to meet dairy producer’s needs.

Karen and her husband, Scott, along with his family, own and operate Bohnert Jerseys, home to 600 mature cows, an equal number of replacement heifers and 1,300 acres in East Moline, Ill. Karen and Scott have three children: Tyler, 18; Cassie, 16 and Jacob, 12. Karen serves on the American Jersey Cattle Association board of directors and has volunteered countless hours to dairy promotion and ag literacy over the years.
